Newcastle upon Tyne has for many years been seen as one of the best cities in the UK to come to party. The sheer number and concentration of
pubs and clubs, as well as the welcoming nature of Geordies, is a magnet to people from all over the country. More recently the craft beer boom
has seen independent breweries mushroom, giving visitors even more of a reason to choose “The Toon” to celebrate.
We are thrilled to offer this laid-back tasting tour that takes in some of the best that the North East has to offer. Having teamed with a wide
selection of venues means it is possible to offer guests a range of both public and bespoke private tours.
You’ll be taken around by one of our expert local guides and all tastings are included in your ticket price.
Our first stop is the brilliantly named Drop Everything and Drink (or DEAD), which is home to Whitley Bay’s Black Storm Brewery. Though
reasonably new to the scene their mix of traditional and modern beers is attracting attention.
Next we’ll amble along to the cozy, quirky Box Social Tap Room. The brainchild of father and son team Steve and Ross Holland, whose passion
for bold flavours and getting people talking about beer saw them go from garage brewing to a 6 barrel kit, and most recently onto a 15 barrel on
an industrial estate in Newburn.
Finally we visit the Bridge Tavern, a gastro/brewpub. The most traditional in terms of pub feel, but on the premises they have a 200L kit on which their head brewer Joe brews both cask and keg beers to drink in-house. They do great food as well, so as this is the end of the tour it’s probably a great time for a bite.
